BYOB London: Best Spots and Wine Tips for Your Next Night Out 🍷 | Vinito

If you're a wine lover in London, you’ve probably stumbled upon a few BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) spots. Whether it's a casual dinner with friends, a cozy date night, or a fun group gathering, BYOB spots are a great way to enjoy your favourite wines without the hefty price tag of ordering at the restaurant.

In this guide, we’ll cover the best BYOB venues in London, along with some expert wine recommendations to bring along. Plus, we’ll introduce you to our wine subscription service and why canned wine is the ultimate BYOB companion.

Best BYOB London Spots 🍽️

From intimate restaurants to lively bars, London has no shortage of BYOB places where you can enjoy quality wine without breaking the bank. Here are some of our favourite spots:

1. The Laundry, Brixton

The team at The Laundry serves up some incredibly delicious food, with their Sunday roast being an absolute must-try. Recently, they’ve introduced a free BYOB night every Tuesday, where you can bring your favourite bottle to enjoy with their fantastic menu - ‘to your heart’s content.’ If the weather’s on your side, head to their terrace for a relaxed, European-inspired vibe. The indoor space is equally cozy, and well-behaved dogs are welcome too. What could be better than great food, good wine, and a laid-back atmosphere?

For this BYOB night, we recommend bringing a bottle of something vibrant and versatile like a juicy Grenache or a refreshing Chardonnay from our wine selection. These wines will pair perfectly with their comforting yet elevated dishes, ensuring a delightful dining experience.

Perfect wine for The Laundry: A juicy Grenache or crisp Chardonnay from our wine subscription.

Address: Walton Lodge, 374 Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, SW9 8PL

Corkage Fee: Free corkage on Tuesdays, otherwise ÂŁ25 per bottle

2. Andu Restaurant (Kingsland Road)

This next restaurant actually inspired me to create this guide, so it’s only natural to include them!

Andu Café is the first Ethiopian vegan café in the UK, and their signature dish - a massive plate of vegetarian goodness is something you won’t want to miss. Expect a hearty and flavour-packed plate featuring green beans, spinach, spicy lentils, yellow split peas, potatoes, and cabbage. It's the kind of meal that sticks with you long after the last bite. I’m still dreaming about it months later!

For a perfect pairing, we recommend bringing along a smooth, fruit-forward red like a juicy Pinot Noir or a slightly chilled Zinfandel. Both wines will complement the complex spices and earthiness of the dish, creating a memorable BYOB experience.

Perfect wine for Andu Restaurant: A smooth Pinot Noir or slightly chilled Zinfandel from our wine subscription.

3. Koasarn (Brixton / Clapham / Tooting)

Koasarn is a South London hotspot that’s famous for its BYOB offering, and it’s no surprise why—it’s a crowd favourite. I’ve been there countless times with a bag of chilled Chenin Blanc cans, and let me tell you, it never disappoints! Their menu of delicious Thai street food is the perfect companion to any wine, but canned wine works particularly well for its convenience and refreshing quality.

For the perfect pairing, we recommend a crisp, fruity Chenin Blanc or a light, aromatic Riesling—both wines are great choices to bring along in cans and will complement the vibrant flavours of their dishes beautifully.

Perfect wine for Koasarn: A refreshing Chenin Blanc or a light, aromatic Riesling from our canned wine collection.

Locations: Brixton Village, London SW9 8PR, Clapham, London SW4 7TX, Tooting, London SW17 9AW

4. Tayyabs (East London)

Tayyabs is an East London institution that hardly needs an introduction. For over 50 years, they’ve been serving up mouth-watering traditional Punjabi cuisine, making it the perfect spot for a group feast. The vibrant flavours and spices in their dishes pair beautifully with a great bottle of wine, so don’t forget to BYO. For a perfect match, we recommend a crisp German Riesling, a fresh and zesty Grüner Veltliner, or a dry, aromatic rosé, all of which will complement the rich and aromatic flavours of their food.

Perfect wine for Tayyabs: A crisp German Riesling, zesty GrĂźner Veltliner, or a dry rosĂŠ from our wine subscription.

Address: 83-89 Fieldgate St, London E1 1JU

Corkage Fee: Free

5. Roti King (Euston)

If you see a queue snaking out near Euston Station, chances are it’s for the legendary Roti King, famous for their unbelievably good roti canai and rich, flavour-packed curries. While they’ve now opened a larger location in Battersea (which isn’t BYO), the original Euston spot is still the place to go if you want to bring your own bottle.

The bold, spicy dishes here deserve something that can cut through the richness, like a chilled Pet Nat, a juicy Beaujolais, or a tropical skin-contact white from our canned wine range. Bring a few along and make your wait in the queue totally worth it.

Perfect wine for Roti King: A chilled Pet Nat, tropical skin-contact white, or juicy Beaujolais in a can—ideal for spicy Malaysian flavours.

Address: 40 Doric Way, London NW1 1LH

Corkage Fee: £10 per table – BYO welcome at Euston location only.

6. Chutneys (Euston)

Tucked just off the main drag near Euston Station, Chutneys is a long-standing favourite for vegetarian Indian food and it’s perfect for groups. The service is always warm, the dosas are consistently excellent, and if you ask nicely, they’ll even pop your wine in the fridge. That’s top-tier BYOB hospitality.

With their fragrant curries and spicy starters, we recommend bringing a lightly sweet Muscat or a crisp Riesling. Both wines balance heat beautifully and bring out the vibrant flavours in the food. Even better if it’s from our wine subscription in a chilled can, ready to go.

Perfect wine for Chutneys: A lightly sweet Muscat or crisp Riesling—especially good in chilled can form for easy group sharing.

Address: 124 Drummond Street, London NW1 2PA

Corkage Fee: No corkage – fridge space available on request!

7. Mangal 1 (Dalston)

A true East London icon, Mangal Ocakbasi (aka Mangal 1) has been serving up smoky, charcoal-grilled perfection for decades. The scent from their legendary mangal grill drifts down Dalston’s streets, pulling in meat-lovers from all over the city. Whether it’s the juicy cubes of lamb in their unbeatable ‘cop sis’ or the garlicky, flavour-packed chicken beyti, this is the kind of place where you feast hard—and BYOB makes it even better.

While they do stock a few Turkish wines, we say come prepared. A bold red like a Cabernet Franc or a lightly chilled Gamay pairs beautifully with all that smokiness and spice. Bonus points if you’ve packed it in a can from our wine subscription—easy to carry, easy to chill, and a guaranteed upgrade to your kebab night.

Perfect wine for Mangal 1: A smoky red like Cabernet Franc or a chilled Gamay—spot on with grilled meats.

Wine Recommendations for BYOB London 🍇

When choosing the perfect wine to bring to your favourite BYOB spot, there are a few things to keep in mind. Here's our guide to selecting the best wines for different types of meals and venues:

Light & Refreshing Whites

Ideal for seafood or fresh salads. Go for a crisp Chardonnay or a floral Sauvignon Blanc. If you're feeling adventurous, our wine subscription has seasonal whites that bring an exciting twist to your BYOB experience.

Fruity RosĂŠ

Perfect for a picnic or a casual dinner, a rosĂŠ is versatile and pairs well with many dishes. Try a light, crisp rosĂŠ, especially one in a can for ease and portability. We recommend our top canned wine rosĂŠ, delivered monthly in our wine subscription.
